1. Who we are
This website (ognellcharity.org) is operated by George Ognell’s Charity, a charitable trust registered in England and Wales (charity number 219925), with registered office at Ognell’s Row, Knockhundred Row, Midhurst, West Sussex GU29 9DQ.
2. Accepting these terms
By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We may update these terms from time to time; the version on this page is the version in force.
3. Content on the site
We try to keep the information on this site accurate, but charity work moves and circumstances change. The figures we publish are from our most recently filed accounts. Where a date is given, the date is the date the page was last reviewed.
Nothing on this site constitutes legal, financial, tax, social-care or housing advice. If you need such advice, please consult a qualified professional.
4. Permitted use of our content
We are happy for you to:
- Read, save and print pages for personal use;
- Quote short passages with credit (“George Ognell’s Charity” and the URL);
- Link to any page on the site;
- Share a link on social media.
You may not, without our written consent:
- Republish whole pages, articles, or annual reports in another publication;
- Reuse photographs that show identifiable people;
- Use our name, charity number, or logo to imply an association with the charity that does not exist;
- Set up parallel donation pages, mailing lists or accounts in our name.
5. Donations
If you donate through this website, payment is processed by our payment partner. Their terms and conditions apply to the payment transaction; ours apply to the use of the donated funds. We will spend your donation in line with our charitable objects, with our policies on restricted gifts, and with the wishes you have expressed (e.g. “Wassail Fund”). Refunds are at the trustees’ discretion; we will deal with any refund request in good faith.
6. Forms on the site
The forms on this site (volunteer enquiry, contact, event booking, partnership enquiry, donation) collect personal data. Their handling is governed by our privacy notice. We do not pass form submissions to third parties.
7. Availability
We provide this site “as is” and without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep it available, but we cannot guarantee it. We may take the site down for maintenance, for legal reasons, or if we are wound up.
8. Links to other sites
This site contains links to external sites, including the Charity Commission, the Information Commissioner’s Office, OpenStreetMap, and our named partners. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content.
9. Our liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded by law (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud).
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute relating to them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
